In this section, we will discuss some other monuments and historical places of interest in this city.

Vank Cathedral, a Tourist destination for European Tourists

Vank Church in Isfahan - Iran Tours and TravelVank Cathedral is one of the most gorgeous places in Isfahan, with Iranian and European architecture. This church, located in the Jolfa Armenian quarter of Isfahan, is a popular tourist attraction in Isfahan. This building is built with raw clay; the exterior walls are built with brick and the interior ones with plaster with some beautiful paintings on them. These paintings, in the dome and corners of the building, refer to the stories of the bible, about the birth of Jesus and his ascension.

There is a section in this church to preserve books and ancient precious objects and is used as a museum of this church.

Never miss visiting these objects and the history of them. The secret behind these objects and the sensation that comes from thinking about the users, make this visit more amusing to us.

Make sure to include visiting this church in your trip to this city. Vank Cathedral would undoubtedly be one of the greatest memories of Isfahan.

Atashgah (Fire Temple) in Isfahan

A memory from Iranian ancient times, a building made of very large and thick bricks.

“Good Deeds, Good Thoughts & Good Words” is a ‘saying’ commemorating the Zoroastrianism.

Si-o-se-pol (Thirty-three bridge), the symbol of the city of Isfahan

Si-o-seh pol in Isfahan - Iran Tours and TravelPerhaps when the bridge was being built by Allahverdi Khan Ondiladze in 1602, the architects could not even imagine that, someday in the future, this structure would be a destination for thousands of tourists from all over the world; a place for two lovers, for two companions walking on and enjoying it.

Maybe you have thought about a romantic night in Isfahan, a night you can give your romantic words to your love. If so, you can go for a walk on this bridge, in the evening during the sunset, seek for yourself here on the bridge and find the sweetest words to express your true love to your special one, making the flames of your love stronger. Yes, this is the specialty of this bridge.

Tonight, tell whatever you have in your mind about love, and your sweetheart will have the same feeling to you. Si-o-se-pol, on which you are walking romantically, is a vaulted arch bridge and one of the famous symbols of the city of Isfahan. It is definitely worth watching under the lights at night that will relax your tired mind and delight your heart.

Khaju Bridge

Khaju bridges in Isfahan - Iran Tours and TravelKhaju Bridge is another place where lovers go for a walk and a romantic talk about the pain of separation and the joy of reunion. The bridge, built in 1650, ordered by Shah Abbas II, has 24 arches and, according to Professor Arthur Upham Pope and Jean Chardin, is “the culminating monument of Persian bridge architecture.”

There is a special building in the middle of this bridge, called Biglar Beigi, built for the temporary residence of the Safavid king. This building includes some beautifully decorated arches. In the past, this place was used by the Safavid king to watch sailing and swimming competitions.

The bridge is also known as the Shahi Bridge, Baba Rukn al-Din Bridge and some other names. A question you might ask your tour guide could be that why there are two stone lions on the eastern side of the bridge.

In response, I should say that these lions are the symbol of Bakhtiari army, the guards of the city of Isfahan and Zayandehrud.
