The citizens of all countries (except Israel), who have a valid passport and a residence permit in their country of residence can travel to Iran, having the necessary documentation and visa.

*Note: different consulates may ask for other documents like travel insurance. Please do contact the consulate in advance. It should be noted that the minimum sizes of the portrait photo is 400 * 600 pixels, and the photo of the passport is 800 * 600 pixels. The applicant passport must be valid for at least six months from the travel date. The portrait photo must be new, full-face and without a hat or dark glasses.

Getting an Iran visa is very simple, first you should fill in the application form online and after you pay the visa application fee, your request will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Then, within maximum 5 business days, you will be informed about the status of your application. If your application is approved, an authorization code will be sent to you. For collecting your Iranian visa at the consulate or at the selected airport you will need the authorization code.

It takes an average time of 3 business days after the application to get the authorization code. However, this time may be increased based on the country of residence and special circumstances.

With a tourist visa, you can stay in Iran for 30 days (this time might be different for the citizens of some countries), but if you would like to stay more than 30 days, you can extend the staying permit two more times for 30 days. It means that the tourists can stay in the country for maximum 90 days.

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Georgia, Armenia, Venezuela, Egypt, Malaysia and China can travel to Iran without a visa.

If there is no Iranian embassy and consulates in your country, most likely you can collect your visa at the airports in Iran. However, the citizens of some countries should collect their visas in advance. As each of these cases is different, contact us to find the best way for your case.

The holders of diplomatic, service, business, expert, journalist, and reporter passport as well as Iranian citizens with foreign passports that have Iranian nationality too, are not included.
